'I want you to want me...'

Lavish alice dress
Knee length dress*: Lavish Alice
Camo jacket: ebay
Chelsea boots*: Tribeca shoes
Beanie: ebay

Please excuse the shockingness of these photos (': this is another outfit I wore a couple of weeks ago. I am slowly but surely getting used to the new background & using my tripod again, because Liam has gone down to Hereford to see his Mum, I have had to start doing outfit photos on my own again aaaaggggghhhhhh (': Don't worry, they will get better! ;)

I am absolutely in love with this Lavish Alice dress. It's not really my normal style but I fancied a longer black dress for A/W & this one is fab because it's so easy to dress up or down & as well as wearing it as a midi dress like this, I've also been wearing it rouched up to more of a mini dress (with tights ;)) & it looks fab! Such an easy laid back piece to wear & at only £15 it's a bit of a bargain! ;) Don't worry, if black isn't really  your colour, you can also snap it up in burgundy & grey too!

OASAP FLORAL JACKETTribeca Chelsea bootsFLORAL JACKET OASAP
Floral jacket*: OASAP
Tropical skirt: ebay
Black t shirt: Primark
Chelsea boots*: Tribeca shoes,
Beanie: ebay
Sunglasses: ebay

I wore this last week/the week before? I can't remember, I have been so busy the past few weeks I just have no memory at the moment ahahhaa, I hope you don't mind (':

Wow wee, throwing a lot of prints at you today aren't I? ;) Gotta love a lot bit if tropical print :) The jacket is from OASAP. I chose it because I really liked the print & the fact that it is a biker jacket. I think biker jackets are really great to just throw on to spruce up a basic outfit.

My boots are from Tribeca shoes. I.am.in.love. you may have seen them in a 'craving' post a couple of weeks ago. They are so comfy & go with everything, definitely my go to winter boots!  They are really sturdy & have been keeping my feet nice & dry in this horrible weather the past few weeks (& they are a total steal at just £25!) What's more, you get 15% off your first order at http://www.tribecashoes.co.uk/ when you sign up! Thank you very much Tribeca shoes! :)

Oh hai Instagram...

Well as you can see, Jack & I have been busy instagramming all week ahahaha I might have to make him in to the fist dog blogger, he loves the camera! ;) I have just checked my account & I have managed to post over 120 photos in a week, that’s pretty heavy going ahahahha, I am kind of obsessed though. I’m always constantly taking pictures anyway but  I don’t always want to lug my big camera around with me, so now I’ve downloaded instagram, it makes it even easier to whip my phone out & take a gazillion snaps which has been great (‘:

Anywhoooo, I will stop rambling & just let the photos speak for themselves :)

Craving #8...

wishlist #8
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Oooh, quite a large 'wishlist' this week. Why is it that you see loads of things that you want to buy when you have no money AT ALL >.< I have fallen so hard for this Drop Dead cat vest, it's just waaaay too amazing. & how cool is the Paul & Joe cat face lipstick holder?! Such a fab idea! Totally unnecessary but fab none the less. The sunglasses are from ebay, they have been in my wishlist for months but I have never got round to buying them, I think they look awesome, oversized but kind of catty, they are deffo going to be my next sunglasses purchase! I have such a love hate relationship with disco pants, I think they look great, but then, everyone & their mum, dog, grandma (ok maybe a little exaggeration but you get my drift) has them so it kind of puts me off buying any, especially the overpriced AA ones, these Glamorous UK ones may have to be purchased though, £29.99 & 4 colours to choose from, a great alternative & much cheaper than the ones from American Apparel.

As always, just click the numbers above to go straight to the products! ;)

DIY Jil Sander veil beanie tutorial…

JIL SANDER VEIL BEANIE DIYWHAT YOU NEED3JIL SANDER VEIL BEANIE DIY 1
So I’m a little late off the mark with this one as these Jil Sander beauties have been gracing the catwalks, magazines, blogs etc for months now. However, after being in Spain for a year, my Elle subscription has been piling up & over the past week or so, I have slowly but surely been getting up to date with them. I couldn’t help but notice how many times Jil Sander beanies have been featured & as I obviously don’t have $440 (so ridic!) to spend on a beanie, I thought I’d try out a little DIY :)
I love how it’s turned out. Do you like the veiled beanie trend, hobo chic or just plain weird? Is this DIY something you would try out? Let me know what you think!
PS: I have downloaded instagram ^_^ you can follow me @ effiesmakeupbox :)

ASOS style challenge: Outfit 1...

asos pink jacket 3asos pink jacket 2asos jacket & white sunglasses 1asos pink jacket 5
Peplum jacket*: ASOS
Cropped vest top: Topshop
Running shorts: Coco Boo
Sunglasses: ASOS
Flatform trainers: ASOS

So you may have already seen, myself & Victoria from Style Marmalade were asked to style this houndstooth peplum jacket & this is my first outfit in full. I wanted to make all my looks quite different to one another, so I tried to put a different 'edge' on each one. As you can see, this is a sports inspired look. I wanted to show how versatile the jacket is & it's so easy to dress up or down. What do you think?

I have had one of the best weeks this week. It started quite slow, stressing about applying for jobs, filling out  loads of online job applications, trawling around the high street with my CV but things quickly turned around, I was offered interviews & after an almost 3 hour interview, I am now officially a Visual Merchandiser ^_^ & if that wasn't enough, after applying to be Sara's wing-man at Missguided a few weeks ago & after me being a complete ball of nerves in my interview with her on Thursday, she rang me on Friday night on her way home from LFW to offer me the internship! I can't even describe how happy & excited I am! I was so worried after being away in Spain for so long that I wouldn't be able to get a job/it would take an age to get one, but after just a week of being back home I have landed two dream positions! I can't believe it! I can't wait to get stuck in!  I'm sure I'll be letting you know how I get on at both places, hey I might even become one of those 'Instagram weekly' bloggers :O as I have jumped back on to the iphone bandwagon (it arrives on Tuesday, can't wait!) bye bye blackberry!

I have a DIY post ready & raring to go tomorrow, it's a really simple & easy one ;) & if that wasn't enough, I guest posted over at Stephanie Dreams today featuring some really cute pug nails, go & check it out, you know you want to ;)

Craving #7...

missguided sequin trousers
1, 2, 3, 4, 5

How amazing are these sequin trousers?! I definitely need these for A/W! Also, I am aware it's not summer anymore but these sunglasses are so awesome! Not cheap, but awesome none the less. I actually now own these boots, the lovely people at tribeca shoes sent them the other week & I have been wearing them non stop! They are so comfy & not too high (I am dreadful in heels) definitely my go to A/W boots!

What do you think of my picks this week? Have you been 'craving' anything particular lately?

ASOS Style Challenge: Houndsooth Peplum Jacket

ASOS PEPLUM HOUNDSTOOTH JACKET
I was contacted by the lovely people at ASOS a few weeks ago asking if I wanted to take part in their style challenge, which would basically consist of me & another blogger (the lovely Victoria) to each style the same A/W item, that isn't necessarily our 'normal' style, in five different ways.

My first thoughts when I saw the jacket was I love it, but will the colour clash with my hair & is it too girly? As you have probably noticed, I very rarely wear pink, but I do love a good print & I had wanted to try out the whole peplum trend for quite a while so I accepted! You can see all my final 'looks' here>link (& on asos.com :O) & I will be posting all the individual outfits as outfit posts too so you can see them in more detail etc.

The jacket it's self is a really great material, it's 70% Viscose, 27% Nylon & 3% Elastine so the jacket keeps it's tailored shape & fit but it's still stretchy so it's really comfortable! I really love the pink & red houndstooth print & I can safely say that I am a peplum fan now! It's such a flattering shape! Also if  you like the print & style but jackets aren't really your thang~ you will be happy to hear that it also comes in a form of a skirt which you can see here>link

Anyway, watch this space as you will be seeing a fair bit of this beauty over the next few weeks ;)

She's still shining, like lightning...

AX PARIS SCUBA PEPLUM ROMWE LIGHTNING LEGGINGS1AX PARIS SCUBA PEPLUM TOPAX PARIS SCUBA PEPLUM ROMEW LIGHTNING LEGGINGS2AX PARIS SCUBA  PEPLUM TOP 1ROMWE LIGHTNING BOLT LEGGINGS

Scuba peplum top*: AX Paris
Lightning bolt leggings*: ROMWE
Flatform boots*: OASAP
Spiked necklace: H! by Henry Holland
Spiked earrings*: Little Nell

We're finally back on British turf! Ahahhaha it feels so strange, obviously these photos were taken while we were still in Pamplona though ;) It feels so strange to be blogging from my bedroom again! I have been a bit awol on twitter the past few days, we have been sorting out all our things & just generally 'settling back in'. Like I said in my last outfit post though, don't worry, I have plenty of blog posts like this lined up & ready to post until I get back into taking outfit photos etc ^_^

Anywho, on to the outfit. The Peplum top was kindly sent to me by AX Paris. It's such a nice thick material & the shape is so flattering. I never thought I'd be one to wear peplum but here I am, wearing it & loving it! What do you think of the whole peplum trend?

The leggings are equally as awesome. They are from ROMWE's own line of leggings. The print is so vibrant & the leggings themselves are a really nice smooth & stretchy material so they fit really nicely, none of this baggy knees business, & they are completely opaque so there is no chance you will be flashing your undies through them ahahahaha (': I really am so impressed with the quality of these leggings, I have my beady eyes on a few other pairs too (these & these) I definitely need to get my mitts on another pair sometime soon & at less than £18 a pop + free shipping, it would be rude not to!

Craving #6 USC edition…

USC WISHLIST #6
1, 2, 3, 4,
5, 6, 7, 8

A bit of a different one this week, everything in this weeks ‘craving’ is from USC! They actually have a really great range of stock on their site. I am in love with the vero moda jacket, it looks so perfect for A/W. I am sucker for anything faux fur, especially if it’s black & the fact that it’s a biker jacket makes it even more amazing! The maroon cross skirt by Reverse is also amazing, the little cross details are so adorable! I have been on the hunt for a pair of black boots to see me through the winter & these studded babies are pretty much perfect, although I have been uhmming & ahhing over a pair of Nike Blazers for a good while now too, it’s so hard to decide…

What do you think of my picks this week? Have you started trying to ‘do’ the whole  S/S A/W transition yet?? Have you bought anything from USC recently?

Freak Laboratory Lipstick 'Salversan'*...

FREAK LABORATORY LIPSTICK freak laboratory lipstickFREAK LABORATORY RED LIPS
REVIEW:

WHAT FREAK LABORATORY SAY: ‘Long lasting. Highly pigmented. Extreme colours. Lipsticks that aren’t the norm.’’

WHAT I THINK:

Product:
‘Salversan’ is a bright orange toned red & as well as being moisturising on my lips & really long lasting, it really does live up to it’s name as a ‘highly pigmented lipstick’

Application:
Salversan glides on really smoothly & is easy enough to apply straight from the bullet, (although I do prefer to apply my lipstick with a lip brush as I think you get a neater finish & don’t use more product that necessary. That’s just my preference.) However, the shape of the bullet made it really easy to apply right from the tube.

Conclusion:
As you have all probably noticed, red lipstick is a new make up staple for me. I have gone from never wearing lipstick to almost always slicking on a red lip & am am happy to say, this lipstick has found a permanent spot in my ‘everyday’ makeup bag. If red isn’t quite your colour, Freak Laboratory offer a range of colours spanning from natural nudes, pretty pinks, very berrys & even vibrant blue! So you are bound to find a colour you love.

WHAT DO YOU THINK: What’s your favourite colour lipstick? Have you ever tried anything from Freak Laboratory? What did you think of it?

The Death Of Professor X...

SEQUIN SHORTS & CAMO JACKETSEQUINS & BEANIESEQUIN SHORTSGOLD SEQUIN SHORTSFRANK SEQUIN SHORTSsitting
Sequin shorts*: Fashion Frank
Xmen t-shirt: Junkfood via TK Maxx
Faux leather backpack*: Shoppalu
Boots*: OASAP
Beanie: ASOS

I can’t quite get over how awesome these Fashion Frank shorts are & they are so comfy! They’d be awesome to dress up & wear out but I wanted to see how well I could dress them down so they are more everyday wearable & I think I have succeeded. They are just the right amount of bling for ‘everyday’ wear.

This is the last Sunday I will be blogging from our little home in Spain. We come back to England on Friday so we have been spending the last few weeks packing & cleaning & I’ve been updating my CV & applying for jobs. It only seems like 5 minutes ago that we first arrived here, with nowhere to live. It’s been such a great year, we are definitely going to miss Pamplona. It would be lovely to stay but alas, Liam has to finish his last year at Uni & I am quite eager to start working again, I know that must sound crazy to most of you but this year is the first time since I was 14 that I haven’t had a job & have had completely to rely on someone else. (& I do actually quite like working!) It was really weird at first & I didn’t quite know what to do with myself but hey, it gave me more time to concentrate on this, my blog, my wee space on the internet, which has been amazing. ‘effiesmakeupbox’ has changed & grown so much over the past year & I am more happy with it than ever. I have to thank Liam (he’s become quite the photographer ;)) for this as he has put up with taking photos of me in all kinds of moods & weather as well as working on his own assignments & it definitely wouldn’t be like it is without him. <3

Anyway, I have quite a few blog posts drafted so that I still have things to post while were settling back in at home as I’m guessing I’m going to be pretty busy, so don’t worry (not that you probably are) I will still be posting regularly. All I have to do when we gat back is find a decent outdoor space to take outfit photos, eee the woes of blogging eigh? Ahahaha! I’m sure I’ll find one somewhere. (I hope) ;) Also, another great reason to come home, I may actually be able to attend one of these blogger events that I get invited to & can never go to (finally) sometime & meet some you lovely bloggy people! #exciting
Well, this turned out to be quite a lengthy, rambly post didn’t it? Sorry about that ;) Speak soon lovelies. xx
